Our
Story
Wells Narrative Group, a woman-owned and -led firm, was founded in 2014 by Melanie Wells, a sought-after content and communications advisor to CEOs, board members, senior leaders, and their teams.
Melanie understands how to humanize leaders and differentiate brands. She also appreciates the importance and power of an experienced, versatile, trusted team that knows how to collaborate—and get results. She leads a group of storytellers that helps companies and leaders shape important messages, frame big ideas, and make complex offerings accessible. Melanie and her handpicked team develop unique thought-leadership programs for CEOs and founders, position executives for recognition in the business world, and help organizations create and manage impactful content and communications programs that engage external and internal stakeholders.
Melanie started Wells Narrative Group after working for years as a journalist in New York and Washington, D.C., and seeing the media landscape evolve to allow companies to play a more active role in telling their stories. Before starting Wells Narrative Group, Melanie was a top editor at Forbes, where she wrote many cover stories, created the CMO Network, and helped plan and lead discussions with high-profile business leaders at exclusive events, including the Forbes Women’s Summit. Her work as a journalist and as an executive ghostwriter has appeared in many publications including the Harvard Business Review, The Wall Street Journal, Fast Company, and USA Today.
We’re based in New York City but we have team members across time zones, from Boston and San Francisco to Melbourne, Australia.
